FIRST SCHOOL AT OCEAN POINTE IN EWA BEACH
The Seagull School at Ocean Pointe in Ewa Beach has been in operation since February 2007. It is licensed by the Department of Human Services for 238 children aged 2 years to 5 years. Non-toilet trained children are welcomed. The center is open from 6:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. In response to some families' expressed needs for longer hours of operation and need for more flexibility in scheduling, we have added the option of extended childcare for an additional fee per month as well as a part time rate.
Through the participation in the Department of Agriculture Child Food Program, the school provides a nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snack served family style which allows children to serve themselves and develop additional skills and responsibilities that meet U.S.D.A. guidelines. Food should NOT BE SENT TO SCHOOL with the children unless it is part of a special diet or due to allergies.
The center has a "No Candies" policy. Parents are not allowed to send cakes and candy to school.
The school's nine classrooms are divided into smaller groups that allow for individualized attention. Several large shaded playground spaces are complemented by a covered lanai area that allows for children to be active outdoors on sunny days.
The school is conveniently located just off of Fort Weaver Road next to Keoneula Elementary School and near Kapolei Parkway,
The large naturally ventilated classrooms and spacious grounds give it a park-like atmosphere that is complemented by the caring and imaginative teaching staff.
Regular activities that partner with the nearby Keoneula Elementary School provide additional opportunities for children to experience a seamless continuum of education that extends through the elementary grades.
