Kaka'ako First School Project

The Kaka'ako First School project will provide for a new 15,380 s.f. center for up to 270 children on a 3/4 acre parcel of land adjacent to the Kaka'ako Park. The three building center consists of 11 classrooms, a commercial kitchen, administrative space, two playground areas, and a kupuna training/gathering room. The buildings, as are all of Seagull’s other schools, will be designed with a strong environmental consciousness. All of the large trees on the site will be preserved and an existing large metal storage building will be renovated and reused.

Seagull Schools' history of successful project management makes us uniquely qualified to plan and develop the First School of Kaka'ako. This plan is similar to four other childcare center projects that Seagull Schools has completed that were funded by a mix of public and private sources. They are located in Kapolei, Ewa Beach, Ko Olina, and Kailua. Combined, they cost approximately $13.8 million to construct and now provide childcare and early education for 700 children. All are beautifully designed specifically for young children and surrounded by ample green space.
